Abortion's blind eye to our past

One argument in favor of keeping abortions legal is the fear of having them performed illegally and unsafely. It is the infamous coat hanger images of botched abortions in dark alleys of yesterday that we want to stay away from. A coat hanger "should never be a surgical device" is the cry among some of the supporters. "Never going back" is another.

It is hard to believe it, but some doctors would have no regard for their patient's safety or well being. That a doctor would defy the law in order to make a quick buck and "help" someone caught between a rock and a hard spot. That they would turn a blind eye even to do something that is against the law.

There are many parallels to illegal abortions of the past and the "legal" ones performed today. This is why this quote caught my attention...
“I can tell you from experience that Planned Parenthood often turns a blind eye to sexual abuse and trafficking..."
It is about sexual abuse, and trafficking. It is about doctors who have no regard for the law. It is about an abortion rate of 40% in New York City. And it doesn't just stop there... the list goes on and on when we think about it.

Shouldn't we have learned from our past?
