The Battle of the Christmas Tree

Irv Sutley lives in  Santa Rosa, California. He is a 65-year-old disabled veteran and is an atheist. He is known for opposing government  He saw a Christmas Tree on display in a county building. Among the decorations were angels and a star. Yes, a star. He complained that it endorsed Christianity and it was ordered to be removed.

Barry Collins is a trial lawyer in the same county. He is Jewish. He put up a Christmas Tree in his county office in protest. Among the decorations was a star. A star that he says “is symbolic of American tradition, like stars on the American flag.”

One Person

It took one person’s complaint to take down the tree.

It took one person to stand up in defense of the tree.
