Supernatural: The Dark Side

In Christianity, Satan is considered the being...

Image via Wikipedia

I was handed a copy of two books by a friend in New York. She had recently left a life of darkness… a life of terror… a life of satanic rituals. She had left a life of Satanism.

She urged me to read a couple books about the life she had left and the story behind the life.

I read both books. Wow. The detail inside the books about mystic things that are all around us every day. How do worldly psychics predict the future? How do psychic healers heal? How does everything dark and sinister seem so powerful?

It is all in there.

I went back to Jacksonville, Florida where I was stationed. I gave both of my copies of the book to a new Christian. He read them cover to cover as I had. His report: “That is exactly how it is.”

He had then told me about how he had left a dark life… a life of witch craft. How he had planned to cast a spell to gain a major financial windfall. But he only planned it. He did not carry though with his plans because he decided that it was not worth it. He decided that he needed a new life… a life of light… a life as a Christian.

Religion as Social Control

Their ArgumentReligion Control

Religion is used as a form of “Social Control.” It has been (and is) used by Rulers and Dictators to control their people It has been (and is) used to suppress “Free Thinking” or to keep individuals form thinking for themselves.

It makes sense that a King (Queen) or Dictator would want to control his (her) people. Social Control is in line. Religion is the best answer, so let’s write a book, call it the Bible, and use it to control the people. Right?

In order for Religion to be used as control, there ought to be some better examples. If I were to write a “Bible,” and use it for control, I would change (or completely leave out) some of it’s stories.

Daniel’s Challenge - Daniel 6

Most everyone has heard of Daniel and the Lion’s Den. But how many of us have really thought about it?
