In The Beginning…

Something From Nothing

I found this quote on a web site. The author is a former atheist. It sums up why he fell away from the flock of atheism. It was why he left his disbelief and became a believer.

Essentially, I realized that to stay an atheist, I would have to believe that nothing produces everything; non-life produces life; randomness produces fine-tuning; chaos produces information; unconsciousness produces consciousness; and non-reason produces reason. Those leaps of faith were simply too big for me to take…

“…nothing produces everything…”   --  such profound words.

The Big BangBlack_Hole_Milkyway

At this point, some would point to the Big Bang Theory and say that it is possible. It makes sense, doesn't it? Isn’t that where our world began?

Would You Believe?

The Questionquestion

“Would You Know God If There Were No Bibles?”

Mark, the Proud Atheist

Heidi Rafferty, from the blog Kingdom Treasures, gave some pretty solid answers in her comments. Many atheists tried to catch her words and make a fool of her, but to no avail, they did not. After some disunion, comments section was closed.

I am absolutely sure it has been a challenging question for many others. It has been for me.  But I got a solid answer after much deep thought and soul searching.

Do Unto Others…

In a post about Golden Rule, the Philly Chief talks about the Golden Rule as being selfish.

Instead of debating this, I will explain the meaning of the Golden Rule. But within it’s original context. It will show it’s meaning when taken in stride with the words that are around it.

The Matthew Account

It is found in the “Sermon on the Mount.” It appears twice in the Bible. The first account is in the book of Matthew.sermon-on-the-mount

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Christianity vs. Religion

Often times, people get confused about Christianity. Why? They do not know what it means to be a Christian.

Let's take a closer look at that. The "-ian" ending means to live in something. Just like Buffalonian is someone who lives in Buffalo and Floridian is someone who lives in Florida... A Christian is someone who lives in Christ. But just what does that mean?

BibleBy definition, Christianity is a religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in the New Testament.

There are some basics for Christianity...
